Weekend Continued!

Some how I got the pictures to work. I didn't do anything different... maybe my internet was just lame earlier! haha. So on saturday we went to the Festival of Colors. It was at the Hindu Temple in Spanish Fork. I had imagined how it was going to be... and this was not it. I wasn't expecting a legit temple. But it was. You can see it in the background of this picture.
So you go to the Temple and people are throwing like colored powder. I can't really think of a better way to describe it. It's not paint. Anyways it was way fun.

There was so much stuff in the air. It was seriously crazy. There were people everywhere. My friend Alyssa has been helping putting the event together and they said that 40,000 people were projected to attend.

There was a band and they were singing the name of the Hindu God over and over and everyone was singing along and dancing. There were large of people crowd surfing. You wouldn't know when they are coming and all of sudden there is someone on top of you falling everywhere. Totally dangerous... but fun!
Even though Spanish Fork is only 20 minutes away from Provo, the crowds were so huge that it took us hours to get to and from the place! We parked at least a mile away and had to walk. I was not expecting this to be such a huge deal, but it was great!

After the Festival of Colors we came home and took a much needed shower. Feeling clean, Laura and I and some other friends headed up to the canyon to have (another) bonfire. When we got there, Jake began unloaded the wood out of the back of the car, but when he put the key in the trunk and turned it the key snapped in half!
It was Laura's car and Jake felt so bad. Haha. He called AAA and they fixed it, but it took a long time! In the mean time we had an awesome fire and I had a smores! Delicious!

When the fire died out and Laura had a new key made, we decided that Denny's hot chocolate was needed.

All in all a fun weekend in Provo!

I'm back!

Alright blogging world.
I am back.

My semester is finally coming to an end. I have no more tests or assignments due until finals, which is very exciting because these past couple of months have been very stressful. This past week has been great though. I've been working my booty off, and it is finally starting to pay off. I had 2 chemistry tests (different classes) and a microbiology test this week. I got a 100 on one of chemistry tests!! Amazing, that is the first time I've gotten a 100 on a test since I have been in college. I also got a 93 on my microbiology test which is bomb because I have been doing awful in that class. I found a group of people that are in like 3 of my classes that I enjoy studying with, so it's been great in boosting my grades up!

So much has happened since I decided that I needed a break from blogging. I actually changed my major. This was the first semester that I actually took a microbiology test. I think that the overall topics are very interesting, but when you dig deep into the details, I pretty much can't stand it. So I knew that I didn't want to do microbiology, but I was having a hard time deciding what I actually did want to do. I'm in a couple of chemistry classes and realized how much I enjoy chemistry. It is part of everything we do. Like serious. Chemistry is the central science. Everything revolves around chemistry, and I think that it is so interesting. I also decided that I can see myself teaching. I think that I'm fun enough, and I'm patient enough, and I really do think that I would enjoy teaching. So I changed my major to chemistry education. What I would like to do is teach basic high school chemistry. I've even thought about doing Teach for America when I graduate if that works out for me. Next semester I start organic chemistry. Hopefully I love it!

This past weekend has been absolutely insane and fun :] I kind of realized that I have been a bit antisocial this semester. I just hang out with the girls that I am comfortable and haven't really made as many friends as I would have liked. So I decided that that needed to change. I decided that anytime someone invited me to something I was going to say yes if I could, so I ended up doing so many things this weekend!

Friday night my hall had an activity with one of the boys halls. We drove up the canyon and had a bonfire. We played a game of football (which I am awful at), roasted marshmallows, and had the most intense trust fall ever! hah. It was way fun.
So I tried uploading pictures from the bonfire onto this post but it is totally not working... have things changed since the last time I updated?? lol. Well look at my facebook for pictures!
After the bonfire we came back to the dorms and some of us girls went to the guys dorms and we played a game of basketball. It was actually really fun. That was one of the things that I actually didn't really want to do, but it ended up being really fun. I'm pretty awful at basketball, but I'm working on my skill and getting better... haha. After we played basketball we went inside and played dumb games, but fun :]
When us girls got back to the dorms we talked for over an hour about the night... and the boys. hahah. Good times.

Saturday morning I woke up early and Kate, Hannah, Jessica, and I headed up to Salt Lake City. Kate had to "observe nature" for 2 hours for her biology class. So the zoo seemed like a good idea. Who even knew SLC had a zoo? hahah. Well I thought about it a while, and the zoo was $9 and I am officially broke, but I still wanted to be apart of the like excursion so I decided to drive up with them, and while they were in the zoo I ran! I'm actually training for full marathon. I've already registered for it. I am going to run the Top of Utah Marathon. It's in Logan, Utah on September 18th of this year. I've always wanted to run a marathon, and I always said I'll do it sometime, but when I am ever going to be as young and spry and I am now? hahahd. So I've been running a lot lately, but I'm getting bored just running about Provo, and Saturday's run was 9 miles, so it was great to run in Salt Lake! A different scene was definitely needed! When I got back they were getting out of the zoo... perfect timing! We drove back to Provo while jamming to Hanson... did you know that they are still coming out with new music... well they totally are!
When we got back I showered and then we went to lunch... I have the most embarrassing story. It seriously may be my most embarrassing moment. If you can think of something I've done more embarrassing I totally need you to comment and tell me because I can't think of one. We were all at lunch and a friend named Chris had joined us. I don't really know him... so that's why this was so embarrassing lol. We were all eating and having a great time when Hannah told this story about how when she was in second grade she pretending this book was her favorite book the entire year so that people would think she was cool. For some reason I thought this was like the funniest thing ever.... I had just taken a drink of water... And couldn't control myself. I spewed water EVERYWHERE. I got it on Jessica's clothes, the table, my phone. Pretty much everywhere. It was great. At that point I still had water in my mouth, but couldn't stop laughing because of what had just happened. It was great. After this occurrence, lunch was very awkward. It was amazing!

The rest of my weekend will be in the next post.... sooo.. to be continued!!!
